How we work

Enterprise & public sector delivery

Web development for larger organisations and public bodies. We agree responsibilities with your team and other suppliers, document decisions and deliver in phases that fit your programme.

    Discovery
    Fixed price

We agree decision-makers, supplier responsibilities, user needs and the evidence your programme requires before recommending the next phase.

  2. 2
    Alpha
    Prototypes

Test different ways of meeting user needs, and find the riskiest assumptions early.

  3. 3

Build the real service, test it with users and prepare it for assessment and go-live.

  4. 4

Questions about larger programmes

What happens if you’re unavailable?

Your code, documentation and hosting accounts are held in your name and kept up to date, so another developer could take over if needed. Continuity arrangements are written into every support agreement.

Are you on any frameworks?

Not at the moment. We can work with you through direct awards, quick quotes and open tenders, including opportunities advertised on Public Contracts Scotland.

Can you work with our in-house team or other suppliers?

Yes. We can work alongside your digital team, policy staff and other suppliers, share code and documentation openly, and follow your ways of working.

Can you pass a GDS assessment?

We build to the GDS Service Standard and the Digital Scotland Service Standard, and to WCAG 2.2 AA. We can prepare the evidence you need and support your team through the assessment.

What happens at the end of a contract?

You keep the code, documentation and data. We plan the exit with you, help hand over to your own team or a new supplier, and return or delete any data we hold.

How can a small studio deliver a large programme?

By being senior-led and phased. Work is split into discovery, alpha, beta and live, each with a clear scope and approval. Code, documentation and continuity arrangements mean the programme never depends on access to one person.

Are you Cyber Essentials certified?

Niletech is currently working towards Cyber Essentials certification, the UK government-backed scheme that helps organisations protect themselves against common cyber threats. Certification is pending, and our security practices are being reviewed as part of the assessment process.
