The client

Brighton & Beck Property is an estate agent based in Ayr that calls itself Scotland’s first online property auctioneer. Since 2017 it has offered sellers a choice: a traditional sale through the estate agency, or a sale by live online auction. It lists homes, land and commercial property across Scotland.

What the website needed to do

The website had to serve two kinds of buyer and two kinds of sale without confusing anyone. Estate agency buyers want to search and arrange a viewing. Auction buyers need to register, read the legal pack and home report, and understand exactly what they are committing to before they bid. The team also needed property details to be managed in one place, not typed into the CRM and then again into the website.

What we built

We built the Brighton & Beck website, bringing properties for sale and live auctions together in one place. Buyers can search by location, property type and number of bedrooms, create an account and use features that are only available when signed in. Separate buying and selling guides explain the auction process step by step, from the identity check to the deposit and completion. Sellers have a clear route to book a valuation.

We integrated the website with Street, the estate agency CRM the team uses. Properties are pulled from the Street API, so the team manages listings in Street and the website stays up to date without anything being entered twice.

Technology

Built with Laravel and MySQL. Property listings come from the Street API.
